ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions has announced the integration of their Aperio wireless lock technology with QxControl, from Qumulex, Inc., a global innovator in cloud-based, unified video surveillance and access control solutions.

ASSA ABLOY - Qumulex partnership

The vision for Qumulex was to offer a cloud-based video and access control solution that also allows you to manage both together, in an open architecture environment,” said Tom Buckley, the Vice President (VP) for Marketing, Qumulex.

Tom Buckley adds, “Partnering with ASSA ABLOY enhances our solution, by offering the most well-known and trusted name in wireless access control, while still maintaining the open architecture approach. We feel this partnership adds great value to our customers, allowing them more flexibility, in how they install their access control solutions and bringing the value of Aperio to the Cloud.

Aperio - QxControl integration

The Aperio integration offers Qumulex customers an easy way to connect additional openings to their QxControl installations

The Aperio integration offers Qumulex customers an easy way to connect additional openings to their new and existing QxControl installations. Aperio is a global wireless platform that works with an extensive range of locking hardware, from ASSA ABLOY Group brands, offering the flexibility to address a variety of applications, throughout any facility.

The platform uses wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) between the lock and an Aperio hub, in order to provide real-time communication with the access control system, simplifying installation and reducing costs.

Cloud-based, physical security solution

Designed from the ground up to be a unified, cloud-based, physical security solution, for both video and access control, QxControl delivers a robust, easy-to-use and mobile-first experience. It is a fully unified video management and access control system, which is delivered as a Progressive Web App (WPA) that runs on any device with a browser and can be deployed on-premises or in the Cloud.

Qumulex shares our mission to enable easy and flexible access control,” stated Angelo Faenza, the Head of Digital Access Solutions, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas, adding “With the Aperio integration and ASSA ABLOY’s continuously evolving range of real-time wireless access control devices, the QxControl platform will be even more powerful and dynamic.
