To ensure end-user clients achieve maximum value from their electronic security solutions, Tyco, the security products division of Johnson Controls, strives to provide the highest levels of pre- and post-sales support for system integrators throughout Europe, for whom Tyco branded products are their preferred choice.

A shining example of a highly successful systems integrator, which has chosen to recommend Tyco access control and video surveillance solutions to their clients and has fully embraced the support available from Tyco, is Ipswich-based company, Net-Ctrl Ltd.

Net-Ctrl Ltd.

Net-Ctrl seized the opportunity to take advantage of the IT and network skills of its engineering team

Founded in 2002, Net-Ctrl Ltd. initially focused on the design and installation of network infrastructure, structured cabling and wireless transmission solutions, with the majority of sales generated from the education sector.

With the migration from analog CCTV to IP network video surveillance systems accelerating, Net-Ctrl seized the opportunity to take advantage of the IT and network skills of its engineering team, in order to offer its customers a wider range of solutions.

UK’s fastest growing system integrators

In addition to video surveillance systems, Net-Ctrl Ltd. has become one of the United Kingdom’s fastest growing system integrators, by delivering integrated electronic solutions that often include access control, fire and intrusion detection technologies.

In many cases, the contract won by Net-Ctrl has also seen them take on the responsibility of overseeing the work of carpenters and locksmiths.

True Integration

Mark Power, Business Development Manager for Net-Ctrl Ltd., said “Although we are always conscious of the need to make objective decisions when we specify products, we have found that for most projects which we have been involved in recently, we have not needed to hesitate before recommending Tyco branded products.

He adds, “It is a win-win situation for all stakeholders, because single sourcing makes the delivery of a truly integrated solution so much easier. This is because Tyco products are designed to interact with each other and we have peace of mind in knowing when products or software are upgraded, they will be forward compatible with the other component parts of the system. Being able to integrate specialist video analytics applications, such as ANPR, is also an important factor.

Tyco - Net-Ctrl partnership

The Net-Ctrl team’s first involvement with a Tyco branded product was when they were asked by a client for advice on how to replace an antiquated access control system, which was way past its ‘use-by’ date. Extensive research led them to recommend a CEM system.

Net-Ctrl Ltd. were also particularly impressed with CEM’s reporting capabilities

In addition to using the latest technology to provide a feature rich method of controlling access to restricted areas, Net-Ctrl Ltd. were also particularly impressed with CEM’s reporting capabilities, which are so important nowadays, in respect of compliance issues.

More recently, Net-Ctrl have been recommending Illustra cameras and exacqVision video management solutions to their clients and in doing so have taken advantage of the availability of the fully equipped Tyco van to demonstrate key Illustra and exacqVision features. As a result, a recent proposal was converted into an order for a 76 camera video surveillance system.

Valued Expertise

We are delighted to be working closely with an ultra-professional and knowledgeable systems integration partners such as Net-Ctrl,” said Gordon Morrison, GB Sales Director for the Tyco Access and Video brands, adding “To a very large extent, our reputation relies on the expertise of partners who are at the sharp end and Net-Ctrl has consistently demonstrated they share our passion for delivering real value to end-users, as well as providing unbeatable post-sales support.

He adds, “To this end, following their completion of all training levels, we have been pleased to accredit Net-Ctrl with Elite Partner status for Exacq. We also appreciate their efforts to fully engage with the Tyco team by, for example, taking the time to attend the Tyco Engage Conference 2019.
