Messe Frankfurt Middle East (MFME), the regional subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt, one of the world’s largest trade fair, congress and event organizers, is to co-locate two of its leading exhibitions in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to capitalize on visitor and exhibitor synergies.

Light Middle East | Intelligent Building Middle East 2023, the region’s premier exhibition, conference and awards for lighting, design and technology, and Intersec 2023, the globally renowned emergency services, security and safety event, will now run side-by-side, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in Dubai, UAE, from January 17 to January 19, 2023.

Strategic move to combine two global events

This is a strategic move to maximize visitor and exhibitor engagement with both events sharing important visitor groups and interests, across system integration and installation, facilities and building management,” explained Christine Davidson, the Group Exhibition Director of Messe Frankfurt Middle East.

He adds, “With the two events taking place at the same time, visitors will be able to take in the entire systems integration range under one roof. We’re creating a powerful event alignment featuring more than 1,200 exhibitors from 60 countries.

Dual trade platform

Messe Frankfurt Middle East says the dual trade platform will find greater traction

Messe Frankfurt Middle East says the dual trade platform will find greater traction among corporate real estate, facilities management, building owners and operators and IT departments who stand to benefit greatly from the use of building intelligence in order to meet space optimization, energy efficiency and connectivity challenges.

Christine Davidson stated, “This comes at a time when changing workplace demographics come with increasing occupant expectations of modern and flexible space design, improved comfort, productivity, and pervasive connectivity.

Interoperability and seamless integration of systems

He adds, “The show combination will play a huge role in developing interoperability and seamless integration of the various systems and services in a smart building which attracts more than 6,000 system integrators and installers who already visit Intersec, and will likely benefit from a wider solutions spectrum that the two shows combined will offer from 2023 onwards.

Christine Davidson continues, “The co-location also enables us to strengthen the smart home and building automation section, with latest innovations in intelligent building monitoring systems (BMS), lighting controls, touchless access control systems, facial recognition, heat sensor and drones that buildings of the future need to exhibit, in order to showcase smart characteristics that are people-centric, have a flexible design, and provide seamless integration of building services.

Light Middle East together with its new Intelligent Building extension will appeal to the 33% of visitor’s interested in Light Middle East’s smart home, electrical engineering and building automation profiles.

Intersec and Light Middle East | Intelligent Building Middle East

The alignment of Intersec and Light Middle East | Intelligent Building Middle East has been widely supported by key industry stakeholders.

Many of our clients already attend Intersec and our sales teams make the trip down there, when the show is on"

Nour Assafiri, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Venuetech, a regular Light Middle East exhibitor, believes the move to co-locate the two events will deepen the product and service offerings for visitors.

Nour Assafiri said, “Many of our clients already attend Intersec and our sales teams make the trip down there, when the show is on. There’s definitely a cross over for us and it will allow us a better platform, for us to interact and build relations with existing and prospective customers.

Three core themes explored in 2023

Dishan Isaac, the Senior Show Manager for Light Middle East | Intelligent Building Middle East, said the three-day event will focus on three core themes in 2023: Innovative Design, Sustainable Future & Seamless Integration.

He said, “Our exhibition, conferences, webinars, podcasts and features will revolve around these core themes. In its 16th edition, Light Middle East | Intelligent Building Middle East will solidify its position as the region’s number one networking and sourcing platform for the lighting and building services industry.
