The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced a massive airport expansion plan that will attract an investment of $147 billion to service the projected 300 million tourist traffic by 2030. The expansion will result in a 15% increase in tourist traffic, to increase annual air cargo volumes to 4.5 million.

The airports will be powered by renewable energy and will be Platinum LEED certified. The number of international flights will rise to 250 from 99. This significant development will position Saudi Arabia as a key player in the aviation industry. “Our main objective is to increase the number of arrivals to the kingdom, we are not after the transit market,” said a Civil Aviation Spokesperson.
To facilitate these ambitious plans, the Airport Innovation Conference will take place on 4th September 2023 at the Radisson Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by Cogent Solutions Event Management.
