Allied Universal, the world’s renowned security and facility services provider, has announced that, at their annual fundraising event held over the weekend, Steve Jones and wife Stacy Jones raised more than US$ 1.9 million for the nation’s only shelter that serves the world’s more than 40 million human trafficking victims.
Jason Derulo, triple platinum and award winning singer-songwriter, performed at the event.

“In the U.S., there are 16,066 substance abuse treatment facilities, 11,379 homeless shelters, and 1,642 domestic violence shelters. There’s only one licensed residential drug treatment shelter dedicated to victims of human trafficking, and it’s in Orange County just miles from our global headquarters,” said Allied Universal’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Steve Jones.
He adds, “That’s why, every year, Stacy and I underwrite and host a charity event to bring much needed attention to the serious issue of human trafficking. All funds raised at this year’s Hot August Nights event go directly to Vera’s Sanctuary.”

In the last four years, the generous guest, donors and sponsors of Hot August Nights have raised more than US$ 5.5 million for Vera’s Sanctuary. This year’s event took place on August 5 in South Orange County and had a fundraising goal of US$ 1.5 million.
Vera’s Sanctuary
Vera’s Sanctuary provides licensed drug treatment services for human trafficking victims ranging in age from 15 to 26. Residents receive 30 hours of weekly therapeutic services, food, clothing, medical care, psychiatric services, prenatal support and transportation.
The women benefit from educational instruction, vocational training, automobile gift programs, internships and job placement. There is no maximum length of stay and every individual can heal at their own pace. Since opening its doors in 2018, Vera’s Sanctuary has provided rehabilitation to nearly 600 women.
