When AI dispenses with defense measures, it can be used to target vulnerable people, gain trust, and then steal information.”
He adds, “As the capabilities of generative AI grow and commoditize, their scope to be used for criminal intentions increases, just as we have seen with deepfakes. Large Language Models are widely available; they present persuasive styles of coherent human response that can be weaponized, used to create synthetic identities, and turn amateur cybercriminals into professionals.”
