ISC West 2016: Microsoft Demonstrates Implementation Of PSIA’s PLAI Specification

PSIA will also provide a briefing with the latest updates and roadmaps for its various industry initiatives

One of the more important developments in the physical security industry is standards supporting dynamic identity management. Microsoft has taken a leadership role influencing this with their support of the PSIA’s PLAI initiative. Mike Faddis, the Director of Microsoft Global Security, will discuss and demonstrate the company’s implementation of PLAI and illustrate how it is streamlining the onboarding processes which have to be completed as a part of the acquisition of external companies. The PLAI architecture is allowing Microsoft to save both time and costs for these processes, while ensuring that secure access for its employees is provided when they need it across their global offices and campuses.

The PSIA will also provide a briefing with the latest updates and roadmaps for its various industry initiatives. Manufacturers and end users will discuss and demonstrate how real-world solutions have moved from concept to development using the PLAI specification.

Background: During the last two years, PSIA members from the security industry have worked together to discuss and conceive how to solve “the identity problem” and develop a specification in which manufacturers could implement solutions allowing logical networks and different physical security access control systems to interoperate together using a single identity source.
