dormakaba announces the opening of a hub, including a new production facility in Montreal, Quebec. The new facility merges all former Access Solutions sites in Canada under one roof, supporting the growing global demand for access control solutions in the segment of hospitality.

Till Reuter, CEO of dormakaba, who inaugurated the hub and production center, says: “The opening of our new facility in Canada is part of the ongoing optimization of our global manufacturing network, hence our growth strategy. It shows our clear commitment to reduce complexity in our footprint. It will lead to improved processes and logistics for the benefit of our customers, who can harvest an advanced delivery performance. The Montreal hub will also help to serve a growing global demand for Access Control Solutions in hospitality and multi-housing.

Efficiency and scalability of operations

The production site in Montreal employs approximately 600 people and produces hundreds of thousands of lock assembly units annually for hospitality, vacation rental, and multifamily housing. It also includes the Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), which are used to finish electronic locks and other electronic products around the world.

The new facility also consolidates three previous sites and moves multidisciplinary teams, including procurement, R&D, and customer support, under one roof to improve efficiency and scalability of operations.
