ASUSTOR Inc., a leading innovator and provider of network storage solutions, has announced the release of the Surveillance Center 2.5 beta version. The Surveillance Center 2.5 Beta optimizes users’ Windows environment operation experience by allowing them to access the App interface from Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer Web browsers. Furthermore, ASUSTOR’s secure HTTPS encrypted connections have been also added to the video recording playback function, comprehensively protecting user privacy and ensuring safety. Surveillance Center’s local display function has also been enhanced. In addition to the real-time monitoring of surveillance feeds, users will now be able playback recording files and hear live audio. The local display function helps small business and home users save on the cost of creating a surveillance system by leveraging the existing monitors and TVs they have via convenient HDMI output from the ASUSTOR NAS.

“Effectively utilising limited storage capacity to achieve effective recording has always been a challenge for users,” said James Su, Product Manager at ASUSTOR. “In regards to this, ASUSTOR has introduced flexible recording storage quotas allowing users to configure the storage quota size, retention period of files and priority of cameras in order to make effective use of the system’s storage capacity.”

Key Features For The Surveillance Center 2.5 Beta:

Optimized Operation In Windows Environments, Supports HTTPS Recording Playback

The Surveillance Center 2.5 Beta satisfies Windows users’ cross-browser usage needs with support for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. HTTPS encrypted connections are also now available when viewing video feeds online, making configurations or playing back recordings, providing added security.

More Flexible Recording Quotas

The Surveillance Center system can define recording storage quotas according to the storage space size or retention period. Additionally, different storage quotas can be configured according to different camera priorities allowing administrators to easily achieve effective recording using limited storage capacity.

Self-Defined Recording File Save Location

Surveillance Center provides a self-defined save location function for recording files. Users can configure the location according to their preferences for added flexibility and freedom.

Enhanced Local Display

ASUSTOR’s PC-less surveillance solution has been enhanced again. In addition to being able to view live camera feeds on your TV, you can also directly search and playback specific recording files via the timeline or calendar. What’s more, you can now hear live audio as well.
