HID Global And DLRS Join Forces To Provide ICAO-compliant Passport Card Solution To Irish Government

The companies are providing enrollment via mobile app, ICAO-compliant smart cards and production management

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Eleventh Symposium and Exhibition – DLRS Limited, the leading security printing company in Ireland, recently announced the successful roll-out of the Irish Passport Card.

End-to-end secure identity solution

DLRS Limited joined forces with HID Global® Ireland Teoranta, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, together with Absolute Graphics and Purple Pod, to implement the Irish Passport Card project. Working together, the companies are providing an end-to-end solution including enrollment via mobile app, highly secure ICAO-compliant smart cards, card personalization and production management.

DLRS, a leader in security printing, is the prime contractor for the project. Additionally, DLRS provided the security design, App development and security numbering alongside its partners HID Global, Absolute Graphics and Purple Pod.

State-Of The-Art Passport Card Solution

The Passport Card enrollment process relies on cutting-edge technology that adheres to the highest levels of security. This process allows users to submit a passport-compliant photo taken on mobile phones or upload a suitable photo to the website, where advanced biometric algorithms test each one to ensure ICAO standards are reached. Once all verification checks have been achieved, the user can pay their fees through the secure Elavon payment gateway (powered by Realex Payments).

Feature-Rich Irish Passport Card

The new Irish Passport Card is a highly sophisticated secure polycarbonate card with embedded hologram, crack prevention and DBondTM technology, supplied by HID Global in Galway, Ireland.
