Suprema, recognized for its advancements in AI-powered security solutions, has unveiled its new AI biometric terminal, BioStation 3 Max.
This latest release is designed to integrate multiple authentication methods, such as facial and fingerprint recognition, RFID, mobile, QR code, and PIN verification. The device features a robust design with a 7-inch touchscreen, optimized for important access points ranging from corporate lobbies to critical infrastructures.
Enhanced Security Measures
As access control systems become essential network components, the necessity for robust device security intensifies. BioStation 3 Max operates on a fortified Linux OS, employing Secure Boot technology to guarantee that only verified firmware is executed. It utilizes a CC EAL6+ certified secure element for the protection of credentials and cryptographic keys at the hardware level.
The encryption of biometric templates and TLS-secured communication reinforces the device's security. For sensitive environments where privacy is a priority, the terminal offers Template-on-Mobile and Template-on-Card alternatives, allowing biometric data to be stored on personal devices rather than centralized databases.
Proficient AI Capabilities
BioStation 3 Max leverages Suprema's newest AI engine on a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU)
Facilitating smooth access in high-traffic areas, BioStation 3 Max leverages Suprema's newest AI engine on a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enabling rapid facial recognition in under 0.3 seconds, even when users are in motion.
Equipped with dual 2MP visual and IR cameras, the system offers liveness detection and robust anti-spoofing capabilities to counteract fraudulent attempts using photos, video replays, or 3D masks. It efficiently navigates challenges posed by accessories like sunglasses and face masks, as well as varied angles and lighting conditions, maintaining swift processing times. The terminal is capable of scaling to manage up to 100,000 registered users.
User Experience and Versatility
The BioStation 3 Max not only focuses on security but also enhances user interaction through its advanced interface. The 7-inch IPS touchscreen provides clear instructions for authentication, face alignment, and supports custom branding messages.
The inclusion of a VoIP intercom with SIP integration facilitates direct communication with receptionists at manned entry points. Further, the terminal boasts IP65 and IK06 ratings, ensuring resilience against dust, water, and physical impacts, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. It is designed for seamless installation on speed-gates or walls, and select models support Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) to combine power and data transmission into a singular cable.
"BioStation 3 Max defines the new standard for identity-first security," remarked Hanchul Kim, CEO of Suprema Inc., emphasizing the terminal's integration of biometric authentication, certified hardware security, and advanced AI performance into one comprehensive device.
