ICT, a world-pioneering manufacturer of unified and intelligent electronic access control and security solutions, is excited to announce the release of the Protege Wireless Lock range to North America.

As the multi-dwelling unit (MDU) industry witnesses a transformative wave of smart building technologies, the Protege Wireless Locks enable property managers, building owners, and developers to provide a modern multifamily living experience.

New Protege wireless locks

New Protege wireless locks include customizable reader covers, rose, and handle options

Available in cartridge mortise and motorized deadbolt form factors, the new Protege wireless locks include customizable reader covers, rose, and handle options in a variety of popular finishes. Compact and minimalist in design, the range can be styled to complement the esthetics of any multi-dwelling unit.

James Ensten, Vice President of Sales ICT USA says, “To thrive in this competitive market, property managers must deliver an exceptional living experience that aligns with the evolving expectations of tenants. A unified Protege ecosystem can deliver seamless movement from the parking garage, foyer, and elevator, right to the individual unit door with a single credential.”

Protege Motorized Deadbolt

The Protege Cartridge Mortise removes visible lock hardware on the door by encasing all electronic components inside the door itself, providing an elegant solution for unit or commercial door security. The Protege Motorized Deadbolt is perfect for both retrofit and new build applications and is provided with a mechanical key override for emergency openings.

The range is purpose-built for the North American market and complies with all relevant standards

Both options support data-on-card offline operation via DESFire smart card and Bluetooth/NFC mobile credentials. They’re natively integrated with Protege GX to enable installers to deploy locks at speed and operators to manage the entire property from within a single ecosystem. With lock hardware assembled in the United States, the range is purpose-built for the North American market and complies with all relevant standards.

Perimeter to penthouse experience

James Ensten continues, “In the race for resident retention and profitability, staying attuned to the latest trends is key. Modern renters now expect the same level of convenience, high-tech amenities, and security in their apartment buildings as they do in other aspects of their lives. We are excited to share this new range of locks with our partners to provide a truly unified ‘perimeter to penthouse’ experience.”

ICT has developed an online lock selector tool to enable customization and enquiries about the new range. Pre-orders are now open for the Protege wireless locks, with general availability to the North American market in early 2024.
