Dantech Electronic Engineering, the UK manufacturer of specialist analog & PoE power supplies and ancillary equipment for security applications, recently presented to the Association of Security Consultants’ (ASC) Business Group Meeting.

40 Years Of Experience

Speaking about the design and specification of effective PoE for electronic security applications, Dantech’s Alan Jones explained how utilizing over 40 years' experience in designing and building electronic equipment, Dantech was supporting consultants, designers and installers to migrate to IP.

Benchmark Magazine’s ‘Recommended’ Product

Alan explained that unlike with generic ‘off the shelf’ IT industry offerings, Dantech supply highly-reliable, stable and secure PoE power products designed & manufactured specifically to meet the needs of security system applications. Emphasising the point, the company’s SecurePoE products have recently been awarded Benchmark magazine’s accolade of ‘Recommended’ product, in their recent bench test.

Featuring a secure enclosure with all connections inside and unique anti-tamper contacts, designed to increase a system’s physical security, SecurePoE set-up is also very simple. The power supplies allow direct engineer access via a laptop, to any connected PoE devices, allowing engineers to perform fast remote set-up and maintenance, saving companies valuable time and money.

High Efficiency And Reliability

On a more technical level, Alan went on to talk about the high-efficiency and high-reliability aspect of Dantech’s SecurePoE products, that guaranteed 30W per port delivery to all compatible load devices, and are available in Gigabit and 10/100 bandwidth models. Offering installation flexibility, they can be installed anywhere on a network, are available in various output configurations and enclosure designs, include indoor and outdoor (IP66 rated) single, 2 and 4-port versions, 4 and 8 port 19” rack-mount enclosure models, and battery backed UPS models.

“We are passionate about supporting consultants, specifiers and installers to maximize long-term reliability for their electronic security installations,” commented Tim Scott, Director at Dantech. “At the ASC Business Group Meeting, our presentation on effective PoE power and Ethernet distribution design spelled out how the use of separate devices could extend reliability, system continuity, compliance and physical security.”
