Sony Professional Reveals World's First HD Intelligent PTZ Network Security Camera

Sony Professional's new flagship range of cameras is transforming video security monitoring

Sony Professional are demonstrating the capabilities of its SNC-RH range of HD PTZ cameras at IFSEC 2009 in hall 4 at stand J10.

The world's first HD pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) IP network security cameras were launched at the 2009 ISC West conference in April and are on show for the first time in Europe at IFSEC 2009. Sony's SNC-RS new series of standard-definition PTZ cameras will also be on show.  

The SNC-RH series is the flagship of Sony's IP-based network security cameras and boasts the SNC-RH124P for indoor use and SNC-RH164P for outdoor use. With an ability to pan 360 degrees, the cameras are the first in their class capable of transmitting and capturing HD video using H.264 compression technology. This allows the transmission and storage of digital video using less bandwidth than previous video compression solutions, enabling at the cameras capture up to 30 frames per second and advancing the transition from standard- to high-definition operations. The new SNC-RH124 PTZ IP network security camera is also among the first to offer users IEEE p802.3 compliant High Power over Ethernet (hPoE), allowing operation using a single Ethernet cable.

This is particularly true for those users that that want to capture moving images in low-light conditions. The SNC-RH PTZ cameras are equipped with XDNR™ (dynamic noise reduction) technology that virtually eliminates image blur during low-light video capture, enabling users to clearly capture images that have not been easy to portray in the past and overcoming the problems associated with many competitive camera models.

The cameras also feature visibility enhancing technology, which was developed to improve performance in challenging lighting conditions, such as high-contrast environments. Enhanced visibility will allow surveillance in particularly dark and bright areas that have previously been difficult to monitor, including casinos and highways.

Not only do the SNC-RH and SNC-RS camera series offer excellent images, all of the new cameras features advanced DEPA™ (Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture) and support intelligent operation as a result. Capable of dual streaming images in HD using H.264 or MPEG4 compression technology and featuring an easy-to-use speed-dome design that can be rapidly assembled and deployed, the cameras are set to revoluntionise video monitoring.
