MOBOTIX cameras will be installed at the Berkeley County historical courthouse, Emergency Communications Center, County Office Complex and Judicial Centre
Buildings and complexes in Berkeley County, West Virginia will get security surveillance infrastructure from MOBOTIX

MOBOTIX, a technology leader and system provider of digital high-resolution network-based video security systems announced an extensive installation agreement with Berkeley County, West Virginia, in which the company will be integrating a highly advanced surveillance infrastructure across multiple municipal buildings and complexes.

Adding more than 25 Hemispheric Q24 cameras (featuring 360° all round views and panorama functionality) and MonoDome D24 cameras (featuring integrated multiple-window motion detection and flexible mounting for indoor and outdoor) to its existing analog network, Berkeley County security and technology administrators have enabled best-in-class, high-resolution security through a cost-effective, plug-and-play network upgrade. Global Surveillance Inc. was the reseller working with municipal officials on system design and vendor selection.

"The entire installation process has been effortless from design to implementation to activation," said Gary Wine, Director of Information Technology, Berkeley County. "With MOBOTIX's incredible hemispheric camera technology, the number of devices needed on-site has dropped significantly from previous levels a testament to the precision and accuracy of image detail, the wide-angle images produced, and the expansive high-resolution storage capabilities. This hardware reduction and the associated software and storage savings give Berkeley County the best quality at the best price a critical need for public and government organizations in this economic climate."

MOBOTIX will deliver high level of security network at Berkeley county with a network of cameras installed in a range of locations

MOBOTIX is the only company to deliver highly-efficient hemispheric video surveillance through its patented decentralised concept, an in-camera technology construct that alleviates bandwidth constraints and allows full-spectrum high resolution video across an IP network. The decentralised MOBOTIX concept employs a high-speed computer and internal flash memory card (SD/MicroSD card) built into every camera, driving significant cost savings to the end user through:

  • fewer cameras (panoramic images with more accurate detail produced via megapixel technology)
  • less PCs/DVRs (all recording/memory storage takes place within the camera)
  • lower network bandwidth (all data processed in the camera itself)

MOBOTIX cameras will be installed at the Berkeley County historical courthouse, Emergency Communications Centre, County Office Complex and Judicial Centre. All cameras come equipped with the latest versions of the versatile MxControlCentre software.

"MOBOTIX is pleased to deliver significant advancements in security, increased levels of efficiency and improved affordability to Berkeley County," stated Steve Gorski, general manager for the Americas, MOBOTIX. "We look forward to an ongoing partnership with Berkeley County-one marked by success and safety."

MOBOTIX's newly announced agreement with Berkeley County comes amid strong growth in the U.S. market, including an overall 50 percent rise in revenue in 2010 over the previous year. Additionally, MOBOTIX's successful partnership with Berkeley County reinforces the company's commitment to maintaining growth through building a solid ecosystem of integrator and reseller partners, a diverse and highly differentiated product mix, and a robust channel for reaching core vertical industries, including state and municipal governments.
