Genetec Inc. has implemented its Security Center platform to unify the physical security systems at SoFi Stadium and the Hollywood Park complex.

This multipurpose venue, renowned as the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers, has become a hotspot for major concerts and international sporting events. The integration with Genetec's platform aims to enhance security management across the 3.1 million-square-foot stadium and the 300-acre park area.

Integrated Security Systems

To meet the demands of large-scale events, SoFi Stadium has standardized its security operations using Security Center, which consolidates video surveillance, access control, automatic license plate recognition (ALPR), and other systems. The venue now operates over 3,000 cameras and 700 access readers, alongside various other sensors and systems. These are monitored from three security control rooms, significantly improving operational efficiency and situational awareness for the security teams.

"Genetec Security Center has improved our response time efficiency by giving us all the information we need in one platform. We’re able to understand what's happening and make decisions quickly," said Nick Bermensolo, Vice President of Security and Safety at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park.

Reliable and Scalable IT Infrastructure

The platform's adaptability supports the evolving needs of cybersecurity and network requirements

Since the deployment of Security Center, the IT team at SoFi Stadium has relied on a scalable and secure platform operating on an isolated network. This infrastructure connects to centralized servers, enabling the Network Operations Center to oversee system performance during events, ensuring all security operations run smoothly. The IT team's support allows the security personnel to efficiently manage everyday tasks while maintaining a robust backend system.

"The Genetec team doesn’t just understand physical security systems, but IT systems too. With their help, we’ve been able to deploy a reliable and high-performing security platform at scale," stated Paul Maldonado, Vice President of IT Infrastructure and Operations at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park.

Future Expansion with AI and Automation

Looking forward, the collaboration between Genetec and SoFi Stadium aims to further enhance the use of the Security Center by incorporating AI-based tools and increased automation. The platform's adaptability supports the evolving needs of cybersecurity and network requirements, aligning with the long-term technology goals of the venue's security operations.

"Genetec has really helped us establish a technology standard. Security Center is reliable and cybersecure, integrates well with our network, and reduces overhead for both IT and security. That’s the type of technology we want to continue implementing across our business," Maldonado added.
