Senator Ron Johnson has keen insights and intimate knowledge of congressional homeland security priorities
Senator Johnson is an exciting and timely addition as keynote speaker to the SIA Government Summit

The Security Industry Association (SIA) announced recently that Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., chair of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, will serve as keynote speaker for the SIA Government Summit.

“As chairman of the Senate homeland security committee, Senator Ron Johnson has keen insights and intimate knowledge of congressional homeland security priorities — priorities that are top-of-mind for SIA Members, security industry executives and public policy makers,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson.“Senator Johnson is an exciting and timely addition as keynote speaker to the SIA Government Summit, given congressional debates over border security, transportation security and related matters this year.”

Brings Together All Facets Of The Security Industry

The SIA Government Summit, to be held June 8-10 at the W Hotel D.C., brings together all facets of the security industry: executives, integrators, sales and marketing, and government relations professionals. Its panels tackle questions of doing business with government and gaining a better understanding of the trends facing the industry, while the event provides one-on-one networking time with government and private sector insiders.

Sen. Johnson’s Background

A business leader first elected to the Senate in 2010, Sen. Johnson’s service reflects his background in manufacturing, which taught him to attack the root causes of problems, not mere symptoms. He came to Washington out of deep concern with wasteful and inefficient federal spending, and passion for addressing huge deficits, slow economic activity, high unemployment and insufficient job creation.

Sen. Johnson serves on the committees on Budget, Foreign Relations, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He resides in Oshkosh, Wis., with his wife Jane. They have three children.

Registration For SIA Government summit

SIA Members can register at a rate of $595; nonmembers are welcome to register at $795. Special rates also are available at the W Hotel through May 8. Qualified government end users and members of the press can register for free. To register press, contact Mickey McCarter, SIA communications manager, at mmccarter@securityindustry.org.
