"The new PTZ network cameras will offer customers greater choice of quality PTZ domes, with different performance and price levels to meet different installation needs."The outdoor-ready surveillance cameras range from top-of-the-line AXIS Q6034-E PTZ dome with high-speed pan/tilt performance and HDTV 720p, to AXIS P5534-E PTZ Dome, which also offers HDTV 720p, and AXIS P5532-E PTZ Domewith D1 resolution (720 x 480/576 pixels).The HDTV 720p performance of AXIS Q6034-E and AXIS P5534-E is in compliance with the SMPTE 296M standard regarding resolution, full frame rate, HDTV colour fidelity and 16:9 format. The 18x zoom in combination with the HDTV resolution on the HDTV PTZ domes provides zoomed-in views that offer not only the same level of detail as a 36x-zoom, standard resolution camera, but also the extra advantage of a wider (16:9) field of view.All three cameras have automatic day and night functionality, enabling superb image quality round the clock. The PTZ cameras provide H.264 video compression format, which greatly optimizes bandwidth and storage use without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is also supported for increased flexibility.Intelligent features offered by the AXIS P55-E Network Camera Series include the Advanced Gatekeeper functionality, which enables the cameras to automatically pan, tilt and zoom in to a pre-set position when motion is detected in a pre-defined area and return to the home position after a set time. AXIS Q6034-E's Active Gatekeeper offers a similar function, but with the added ability to follow the detected object. The auto-tracking feature in AXIS Q6034-E can also be used as an alarm trigger.The easy installation features incorporated in all three PTZ domes enable significant reduction in installation costs. They do not require an external housing since they are delivered out-of-the-box ready for installation outdoors. They have IP66 and NEMA 4X ratings for protection against water and dust, and are equipped with built-in heater, fan and sunshield. The AXIS P55-E cameras can operate in temperatures ranging from -20 °C to 50 °C (-4 °F to 122 °F). AXIS Q6034-E, meanwhile, can operate in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 50 °C (-40 °F to 122 °F) with Arctic Temperature Control, which allows the camera to not only function at -40 °C (-40 °F) but also power up at that temperature following a power failure. The technology makes it easy for users to accelerate post-event investigations, improve situational awareness, and derive critical business insights from video data. Something as mundane as an unwieldy queue forming at a concession stand, can translate into alerting logic that increases operators’ situational awareness and ability to effectively intervene when time is of the essence. By understanding developing situations in real-time, they can respond more quickly to prevent or solve a problem. Rule-based real time alerts Users can configure rule-based real-time alerts, based on specific scenarios – such as when people counts in the defined space next to the cashier are higher than the specified threshold, indicating a queue, or when vehicles are detected dwelling in a no-park zone or sensitive security area. If they’re able to extract the perpetrator’s face or license plate from the video search, security officers can also identify and track the specific person and vehicle of interest. Firmware Vault Designed to help IT administrators and systems integrators stay up to date with the latest camera firmware, Firmware Vault helps organizations ensure they have the latest protection from the manufacturer against cyber threats. Outdated camera firmware presents one of the biggest weaknesses in cybersecurity defense. But for many security administrators, keeping pace with the latest updates can be very time-consuming. According to recent research conducted by Genetec, 68.4% or almost 7 out of 10 cameras are currently running out-of-date firmware. Enhancing cybersecurity protection  Ensuring that you are running the latest version of your cameras’ firmware can be tricky and time-consuming Firmware Vault streamlines the camera firmware update process so that customers can implement the latest cybersecurity protection measures as soon as they become available, a crucial step in ensuring their organization’s resilience against cyber-attacks. Firmware Vault is available free of charge with Security Center Version 5.8 and above. “Ensuring that you are running the latest version of your cameras’ firmware can be tricky and time-consuming. Yet, when the firmware on a single video surveillance camera is out of date, your entire IT network can be at risk of a cyber-attack. Firmware Vault makes it easy to keep on top of the firmware update process,” explains Mathieu Chevalier, Lead Security Architect, at Genetec. Cloud-based locker The Firmware Vault feature relies on the same highly-secure cloud-based locker used by the Genetec Update Service to provide access to Windows and Security Center updates. When new camera firmware is available, system administrators are notified in the Security Center Configuration Tool. This allows them to track and download new firmware packages and the latest manufacturer cybersecurity protection measures for the connected cameras in a matter of minutes. The Firmware Vault allows users to have a unified view of all cameras and their update status so that they can take corrective action more quickly and efficiently.
