Videx Security has launched the 6789 video monitor, a 7-inch hands-free device, enhancing its 2 wire range with features traditionally found in full IP systems. This new addition to the 6700 series is compatible with the VX2300 system and various 2 wire video kits, such as the ERA23V range. The monitor boasts a high-resolution capacitive touchscreen coupled with programmable tactile buttons, providing users with intuitive controls, remote connectivity, and smart integration capabilities ideal for residential, commercial, and mixed-use settings.
Remote Access and Integration Features
The 6789 video monitor operates over a 2 wire bus and includes built-in WiFi, offering remote access through the Videx CloudNected app. Users can manage calls, watch entry panel cameras, and control door and gate access remotely. The system's compatibility extends to third-party CCTV integration via RTSP, and it also includes a web browser for remote management, event log access, and smart home control.
Industry Insight
Rob Sands, Technical Director at Videx, highlighted the significance of the new monitor, stating, “The 6789 represents a major step forward in 2 wire video systems. It brings together the usability of a modern touchscreen monitor with features such as remote access, third-party integration and smart heating control – all in one unit. It’s an ideal solution for both new installations and retrofit upgrades.”
Additional Features and Compatibility
Beyond its primary functionalities, the 6789 monitor includes a thermostat and humidity sensor with programmable weekly schedules, smart intercommunication between monitors, and adaptability through the internal web browser and IPure Wizard software. To offer greater flexibility in installation, a desktop mount kit is available. The monitor is designed to align with other devices on the VX2300 system and enhances existing setups requiring advanced features.
