ZeroEyes, innovators of an advanced weapons detection and threat intelligence system, has successfully integrated its AI gun detection platform within Kansas' Bonner Springs–Edwardsville USD 204. This initiative aims to bolster the safety measures for both students and faculty against potential gun violence.
USD 204 encompasses a comprehensive educational structure, accommodating over 2,400 PreK–12 students and 455 staff members spread throughout the suburban regions of Kansas City, Bonner Springs, and Edwardsville. This includes one high school, one middle school, three elementary schools, and two Pre-K facilities. ZeroEyes is a crucial addition to the district's pre-existing security strategy, which comprises school resource officers (SROs), secured entry points, and active collaboration with local law enforcement across the three communities.
Situational Awareness Platform
The implementation of ZeroEyes' platform was made possible through funding from the Kansas Safe and Secure Firearm Detection Grant Program, managed by the Office of the Kansas Attorney General. Lisa Terrell, Director of Education Foundation & Counseling Services, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “Ensuring the safety of our students and staff is at the core of everything we do. The deployment of ZeroEyes is a natural extension of our district’s proactive, layered approach to security, enhancing the strong foundation we’ve built through trusted partnerships with local law enforcement, secure facilities, and dedicated personnel.”

ZeroEyes' system is designed to seamlessly integrate with existing digital security cameras. Upon identifying a firearm, images are rapidly transmitted to the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), recognized as the nation's sole U.S.-based, fully in-house center.
Staffed around the clock by trained veterans of the U.S. military and law enforcement, the ZOC evaluates potential threats, distributing alerts and detailed intelligence—such as a visual description, firearm type, and geographic data—to law enforcement and local security teams within seconds.
