Dallmeier has unveiled the Panomera® S4 Skyview, a cutting-edge camera system designed for high-resolution surveillance of airport airspace.
This innovative product is engineered to deliver consistent oversight of areas significantly above ground level, enhancing the capabilities of modern video security networks.
Advanced Airspace Surveillance
The Panomera® S4 Skyview utilizes Dallmeier's patented multifocal sensor technology to provide seamless surveillance of extensive areas while retaining high detail levels.
It features an upward-oriented vertical capture angle, enabling effective monitoring of airspace, including tracking aircraft, bird flocks, and unauthorized aerial objects during their early stages of appearance. This system ensures that all vital image sectors are continuously and fully recorded, facilitating seamless event monitoring and detailed forensic examination.
Innovative Design for Practical Use
The horizontal installation enhances protection against environmental factors like rain and snow
Featuring a unique lens alignment within its enclosure, the Panomera® S4 Skyview boasts several operational advantages.
The horizontal installation enhances protection against environmental factors like rain and snow. Coupled with the Panomera® Sunshield, it minimizes direct sunlight exposure while maximizing weather resistance. Additionally, integration with the Dallmeier Air Blast System offers non-contact, wear-free cleaning of the lens using compressed air, ensuring persistent clarity.
Open System Integration
This multifocal sensor configuration achieves a real-time resolution of 40 MP and a dynamic range of 130 dB UWDR, delivering clear imagery in challenging lighting scenarios. The system supports H.265 video compression at 30 fps and possesses compatibility with ONVIF Profile M, S, and T for open system integration and GDPR compliance.
Designed for enduring outdoor conditions, the Panomera® S4 Skyview's IP69-rated housing includes heating and a double-shell convection cooling system for consistent performance. With no moving parts required, as seen in PTZ cameras, maintenance needs are minimized. The system's compatibility with the Mountera® mounting platform allows for straightforward and adaptable installation.
Comprehensive Airport Security
The Panomera® S4 Skyview complements Dallmeier's extensive range of airport solutions
The Panomera® S4 Skyview complements Dallmeier's extensive range of airport solutions, offering targeted aerial surveillance alongside ground monitoring by products like the Panomera® S8 Runway systems.
In applications such as Virtual and Remote Towers, the S4 Skyview enhances security by covering areas obscured to the tower's view, enabling a holistic security overview of airport operations.
Dallmeier's Technological Leadership
Since its inception in 1984 by Dieter Dallmeier in Germany, Dallmeier has pioneered video technology, developing various solutions, including the Panomera® multifocal sensor technology and the innovative Mountera® mounting system. The company maintains a strong commitment to data protection, cybersecurity, and sustainability, with all research, development, and manufacturing conducted from its headquarters in Regensburg.
Dallmeier's solutions enhance security and efficiency across industries, serving sectors such as casinos, smart cities, airports, and banks, delivering substantial customer benefits with a favorable Total Cost of Ownership and Return on Investment.
With the Panomera® S4 Skyview, Dallmeier introduces an innovative camera solution specifically developed for high-resolution airspace surveillance at airports.
The unique sensor alignment enables reliable coverage of areas far above ground level, thus purposefully expanding the application range of modern video security systems.
Optimized for airspace surveillance
The Panomera® S4 Skyview is based on the patented multifocal sensor technology and provides continuous coverage of large areas while maintaining a high level of detail. Thanks to its wide vertical capture angle directed upward, airport airspace can be monitored efficiently. This makes the system ideally suited for the detection and observation of all types of airborne objects. For example, aircraft in approach or holding patterns can be reliably tracked. Larger flocks of birds or unauthorized flying objects can also be detected and assessed at an early stage.
All relevant image areas are continuously recorded in full and remain available for evaluation. This enables seamless event tracking and detailed forensic analysis, even after the event.
Innovative design with practical advantages
The exceptional performance of the Panomera® S4 Skyview is based on the special arrangement of the lenses inside the housing. This design enables the monitoring of the sky area while allowing horizontal installation of the camera.
This form factor offers decisive advantages in practical operation: The lens front is better protected against precipitation such as rain or snow. In combination with the Panomera® Sunshield, direct sunlight is prevented while weather protection is further enhanced. In addition, the camera can be combined with innovative technologies such as the Dallmeier Air Blast System to actively remove dirt from the front surface and ensure permanently clear visibility. This is achieved contact-free and therefore wear-free by means of compressed air.
Open system integration
The combination of multiple sensors enables a real-time resolution of 40 MP as well as an effective dynamic range of 130 dB UWDR. As a result, clear and detailed images are generated even under difficult lighting conditions.
Modern video compression with H.265 at up to 30 fps as well as support for EdgeStorage ensure efficient recording. In addition, the system fulfills all requirements for open system integration and data protection with ONVIF Profile M, S and T as well as GDPR-compliant functions.
Robust system design and easy installation
The Panomera® S4 Skyview is designed for permanent outdoor operation. An IP69 housing with integrated heating and double-shell convection cooling ensures reliable operation even under demanding environmental conditions.
The absence of moving components – such as those required for PTZ cameras – also significantly reduces maintenance effort. Full compatibility with the Mountera® mounting system enables easy and flexible installation.
Comprehensive airport solutions portfolio
The Panomera® S4 Skyview is part of Dallmeier’s comprehensive solutions portfolio for airports. While Panomera® S8 Runway systems provide high-resolution monitoring of ground areas and runways, the Panomera® S4 Skyview enables targeted airspace surveillance. In Virtual and Remote Tower scenarios, the Panomera® S4 Skyview also provides additional security by covering areas behind the tower.
Combined, this creates a seamless Panomera® solution that fully captures both ground and airspace areas, providing a comprehensive overview of all security-relevant activities at the airport. In 1984, Dieter Dallmeier founded what is now Dallmeier electronic – not in the proverbial garage, but in a garden shed in Regensburg, Germany. Today, the company, which can justifiably call itself a hidden champion for video information technology "Made in Germany", has several hundred employees worldwide, more than 250 of them at the company headquarters in the center of Regensburg alone.
Medium-sized companies
Dallmeier's camera, recording, software, and analysis solutions optimize security and processes for B2B end customers in a wide range of industries in over 60 countries. The focus is on users from the casino, smart city, airports, logistics, stadiums, and industrial sectors. But also, banks, critical infrastructure facilities as well as medium-sized companies from all sectors.
With pioneering innovations, Dallmeier has succeeded time and again in placing itself at the forefront of technology: From the world's first digital image storage system with motion analysis in 1992, the patented "multifocal sensor technology" Panomera® with its "Mountera®" mounting system, to the latest Domera® camera family, which allows up to 300 camera variants with only 18 components. These and many other innovations provide real, tangible customer benefits. And with a low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and a high Return on Investment (ROI) they can easily compete with systems produced and supplied from low-wage countries.
Maximum vertical integration
With "Made in Germany", they also guarantee the customers the highest standards in data protection, cybersecurity, and ethical responsibility.
With high quality and short supply chains, they also ensure – almost incidentally – sustainability and environmental protection. From their prestigious headquarters in the centre of Regensburg, Dallmeier not only carries out its own research and development but also the complete manufacturing process – from component to product to solution.
