Nedap’s TRANSIT Ultimate is a robust long-range identification reader, based on semi-active RFID technology

Nedap Identification Systems - leading specialist in vehicle detection and identification technology - and Axis Communications, market leader in network video, introduce an integrated solution based on Axis’ physical access control products. The complete standalone solution leverages the transparency and flexibility of Axis’ standards-based IP-based approach to deliver a scalable and easy-to-install method to combine long-range identification with efficient physical security devices.  This joint Nedap Identification Systems-Axis offering will officially be introduced to the market during Intersec Dubai, 17-19 January.

Standalone Solution

By combining Nedap’s readers for long-range identification with Axis’ products for physical access control, customers benefit from an open and future-flexible IP-alternative to enhance their security solutions. Axis' physical access control products cover a variety of application needs, from identification and entry control to advanced access management.

Automatic Vehicle And Driver Identification

Nedap’s TRANSIT Ultimate is a robust long-range identification reader, based on semi-active RFID technology, enabling automatic vehicle and driver identification at distances of up to 10 m (33 ft.). This high-end reader is now available as a standalone solution, taking advantage of the open architecture of the AXIS A1001 IP-based network door controller that features embedded access management software. Nedap’s uPASS readers offer long-range vehicle identification using the latest UHF technology. The uPASS readers are expected to become available as standalone solution this year.

“Nedap offers very effective technology to enhance the physical security benefits of our physical access control products, ensuring greater security and safety. By combining our two companies’ expertise and products, we can deliver a solution that not only strengthens customers’ security coverage today, but provides an efficient and cost-effective way to scale to address future requirements as well,” said Stephanie Hensler, Director Business Development, Access Control at Axis Communications.

“As a result of our partnership with Axis, we are able to provide our sales channel as a state of the art standalone physical access control solution that leverages the full potential of our high end long-range identification readers,” says Wouter Vansteenkiste, Senior Channel Development Manager at Nedap Identification Systems.
