The recent release of COLDSTORE Compact means that TRINITY is also now suitable for systems with lower camera counts

Hanwha Techwin America (formerly Samsung Techwin America) recently announced a global partnership with Veracity, the market leader in IP transmission and surveillance storage. Together they are launching TRINITY™, an IP network video surveillance solution that does not require a network video recorder. Veracity is a global leader in network video surveillance storage and innovative IP transmission solutions.

TRINITY – An IP Network Video Surveillance Solution

TRINITY takes advantage of the processing power of Samsung WiseNetIII open platform cameras which enables it to simultaneously run multiple on-board edge based applications, including Veracity’s award winning COLDSTORE ‘direct-to-storage’ recording solution.

“The capability to record and store metadata directly to COLDSTORE is particularly important as customers are increasingly specifying WiseNetIII cameras to run applications that collect and analyze data using video analytics solutions,” said Tom Cook, Vice President of Sales, Hanwha Techwin America. “The high quality images generated by the cameras provide valuable information for management to improve efficiencies as well as enhancing security.”

With TRINITY, users are able to take advantage of a robust and scalable system which does not require a server or network recording device and yet supports audio and metadata as well as video in addition to offering innovative features such as camera-level fail-over and resilience to network interruptions. Now, substantial savings can be achieved on software licenses and NVR hardware costs normally incurred when an IP network recording system is required. With a COLDSTORE array of up to 120TB consuming just 60 watts, there is also a potential 90% power saving compared to standard server based storage solutions.

Samsung WiseNetIII Open Platform Cameras

“In simple terms, WiseNetIII cameras are now able to write directly to disk with all of the associated benefits,” said Alastair McLeod, Veracity’s Group CEO. “The TRINITY architecture allows the Samsung WiseNetIII cameras to record directly to COLDSTORE, while providing users with the option to retrieve and view the recorded images via our TRINITY Player utility or, more significantly, by any third-party PSIM or VMS (Video Management System) client application that incorporates our easy to implement media SDK.”

Because of their high storage capacity and low power consumption, COLDSTORE hard disk storage arrays are increasingly being specified for large scale surveillance installations or for projects with long video retention time requirements. As well, COLDSTONE has been designed from the ground up to significantly increase disk reliability. The recent release of COLDSTORE Compact means that TRINITY is also now suitable for systems with lower camera counts.
