The Annual Luncheon enables members from the industry to come together to celebrate the industry’s achievements of the past year

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) is looking forward to recognizing the industry’s finest talent at its upcoming Annual Luncheon, scheduled to take place on Tuesday 12th July 2016 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

The Annual Luncheon is the Association’s flagship event, enabling members and colleagues from across the industry to come together to celebrate the industry’s achievements of the past year, while networking with VIP Government, Police and other key stakeholder representatives.

Platform For Recognition

The event also provides a platform to give recognition to the commendable and limitless contributions that security personnel make to the industry and the wider community each and every day, through the Association’s award program. Awards will be presented to the national winners of Annual Security Personnel Awards, Apprentice Installer Awards, CVIT Special Awards and BSIA Chairman’s Awards, enabling personnel to be recognized for a wide range of achievements.

Chief Executive of the BSIA, James Kelly, comments: “The Association’s Annual Luncheon is always a highlight in the security calendar and one that I know many of our members look forward to every year. The BSIA is proud to represent the very best of the security industry and our annual awards program enables us to showcase the enormous amount of talent that is present within the industry.”

Chris Moon

The awards will be presented by former British Army Officer and inspirational speaker Chris Moon, who will also be delivering a keynote speech. Chris spent time clearing landmines in Asia and Africa, and survived being taken prisoner in Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge by successfully negotiating his own release and that of two colleagues from threatened execution.

In 1995, he was blown up in a supposedly safe area of a minefield in remote East Africa, losing an arm and a leg. Within a year of leaving hospital, Chris ran the London Marathon and raised significant sums of money to help disabled people in the developing world. He later became the world’s first amputee ultra-distance runner and completed the gruelling Marathon Des Sables in 1997 and has subsequently completed the world’s toughest ultra-marathons.

Chris Moon’s keynote speech and the presentation of awards will take place after a three course a la carte luncheon with wine.

“I’d like to encourage anyone involved in the UK’s private security industry to join the BSIA at our Annual Luncheon this year. The event is always well attended by colleagues from all sectors of the industry and presents a great opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the industry over the past year.” Concludes James Kelly.
