HID Global, a leading manufacturer in the access control industry, today announced that Troy S.  Dunson has been named Senior Sales Engineer, supporting the company's recently released CrescendoTM series smart cards, reporting to Debra Spitler, executive vice president of HID ConnectTM.  In this newly created position, Mr. Dunson will be responsible for supporting the business objectives of the new smart card series to meet the growing demand for a single card for logical and physical access control.  By working with HID Global customers at all levels, Mr. Dunson will provide services executing strategic and tactical action plans for shaping the market for logical and physical access control and other secure identity-related applications.

Introduced in February at the RSA Conference, Crescendo is a series of highly secure, off-the-shelf smart cards designed to provide out-of-the-box, standards-compliant support for thousands of logical access applications.  The smart card series offers the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for a combined logical and physical access control solution.  By incorporating HID's industry standard proximity technology (i.e., HID, Indala®), iCLASS®, and other 13.56 MHz technologies, Crescendo is a single card that can be easily deployed for both logical and physical access control applications!

"HID's end-user customers have asked for an easy-to-deploy, economical solution for combined logical and physical access control for a long time," said Troy S. Dunson, senior sales engineer - Crescendo, HID Global.   "I'm thrilled to be able to help them explore how Crescendo, a revolutionary new product, leverages their existing infrastructure while allowing them to simultaneously add logical access applications".

"HID Global's Trusted Identity Platform is designed to combine technologies, services, and know-how with unique attributes to deliver a trusted solution for secure identity-related applications," said Debra Spitler, HID Global's executive vice president of HID Connect.  "Troy's experience and knowledge of the IT security and logical access space will allow us to help our customers find solutions that meet their needs for a combined logical and physical access control solution.

Prior to joining HID Global, Mr. Dunson was with IdentiPHI, where he was Senior Sales Engineer.  He has also held business development, technical sales and training roles at SafeNet/Datakey, Passlogix and other firms selling security and identity management products.
