Samsung integration with Mirasys allows users of video management software to control Samsung network cameras
Mirasys software is based on open architecture and supports H.264 compression
Samsung’s network cameras have been successfully integrated into the Mirasys video management software platform.

Mirasys’ VMS can receive image feeds from both analog and IP cameras simultaneously. Based on an open architecture and supporting H.264 compression, the software can be run across hundreds of servers on an unlimited number of workstations and mobileor browser-based web-clients.

“Whilst we have the capability to be a one-stop-shop for analog, hybrid and IP network based video surveillance systems, we recognize the need to provide customers with the flexibility to choose the perfect combination of security products to match their specific requirements,” said Tim Biddulph, IP Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “We also want to make it easier for customers who are looking for a gradual transition from an existing to a fully IP based surveillance solution. Our integration with Mirasys is part of an ongoing programme to integrate with leading independent software vendors (ISVs) who can offer ‘open’ software specifically designed to facilitate the integration of equipment and systems from different manufacturers".

The Mirasys and Samsung technical teams have worked closely together to provide a high level of integration which allows users of the Mirasys video management software to control many of the Samsung network cameras’ features, including automatic discovery of cameras, PTZ control, Bi-directional audio, Alarm input/output, Motion Detection, IR LED on/off control and Time synchronisation which allows a server to automatically synchronize the camera with the system’s time.

“We are developing technology partnerships with innovative software development companies such as Mirasys as part of our  Smart Security philosophy of proving  to installers, systems integrators, specifiers and end-users how they can choose Samsung IP equipment and be confident that it will meet, if not exceed, their expectations,” said Tim Biddulph.

“The advanced integration of Samsung network cameras into our VMS solution highlights our close co-operation under the Mirasys Platinum Partner programme”, said Jukka Riivari, CEO of Mirasys. “By supporting advanced camera capabilities – such as two-way audio, motion detection and privacy zones – our common sales partners can enjoy new, unique business opportunities with the combination of Mirasys software and Samsung cameras”
