Siemens Launch Innovative Intrunet E-Line Motion Detectors

Product Profile

Siemens new Intrunet ‘E-Line' motion detector range has been designed with the installer in mind, to offer a dramatically reduced installation time and exceptional cost/performance.  It is ideal for a wide range of low to medium risk applications in quiet to harsh environments, as it provides high positioning versatility.

Features include:

  • End-of Line wiring concept with EoL boards (patent pending)
  • Snap-in cover
  • Single and dual technology
  • Wireless option
  • 10Ghz and 24 Ghz versions
  • Independent PIR and microwave range adjustment
  • Grade 2 and Grade 3
  • Full pet immunity flexibility
  • Certified to EN 50131-2-2:2008 and EN 50131-2-4:2008 European Standard

The new range offers the same popular features found in other Intrunet detectors, including the ‘snap-in' cover concept developed by Siemens, but promises improved levels of installation flexibility, speed and cost performance: it simplifies and speeds up all stages of the installation process, from preparation to wiring, set up and walk test - and even maintenance and upgrades.

Siemens' unique ‘End of Line' (EoL) concept eliminates manual resistor wiring and helps make detector wiring quicker, simpler and error-free.  With E-Line detectors, installers have the flexibility to use the EoL boards (patent pending) instead of the conventional resistors: each EoL board offers different resistor value combinations for the most commonly available control panels, selectable via switches.  Combined with the removable terminal block, this concept shortens preparation time, reduces the possibility of wiring errors and facilitates installation trouble-shooting - all of which can contribute to cutting installation time by over 50%.

The range includes single and dual technology detectors and a wireless version, combining cost-effective detection with smart functionality.  All models are available with or without an antimask functionality and provide real reliability at the limit of the detection zones.  They also offer easy and risk-free customisation of field of view (curtain or volumetric) and white light tolerance, independent PIR and microwave sensitivity adjustment, and full pet immunity flexibility: it can be switched between 12 kg and 30 kg and back at any time, with E-Line Grade 3 detectors with antimask also enabling 12 kg pet immunity to be combined with look down zone without any loss of creep zone protection - another unique capability on the market. Additionally, not only do they enable the PIR and microwave range to be adjusted independently - yet another unique feature - but their six m to18 m detection range adjustment capability simply offers the widest spectrum on the market.

This combination of innovative installation, customisation functionality, reliability and a ‘family-design' approach reduces the number of detectors needed to address even the most wide-ranging installation or upgrade requirements.  Furthermore, as individual resistors are no longer required, stock complexity and costs for installers can be substantially reduced.

Siemens' E-Line detectors comprise the first complete family of detectors certified to EN 50131-2-2:2008 and EN 50131-2-4:2008 European Standard Series for Intruder Alarm Systems, meeting all required tests and supported by independent Test Reports.

To support Intrunet E-Line detectors in any application, Siemens offers a comprehensive range of control panels, operational devices and peripherals, although the new detectors are also compatible with most other commonly available control panels on the market.
