Viakoo, the provider of reliable system and data verification solutions, is demonstrating innovative new offerings for physical security service assurance and sustainable cyber hygiene at GSX 2018 (Booth #2943). Viakoo is showcasing two of their newest software solutions for the intersection of physical and cyber security: the new Camera Firmware Update Manager (CFUM), and the new IoT Tracker.

Many businesses are excited about upgrading or installing a new video surveillance system, but they are surprised by the need and the magnitude of ongoing management and maintenance tasks,” said Bud Broomhead, CEO, Viakoo. “With Viakoo, businesses have proactive tools to help them maintain their systems, track the health of their systems, and limit or prevent system downtime. Viakoo provides critical insight into exactly how their systems are operating.”

Protect Sensitive Areas

Viakoo helps to automate the process of assuring that video surveillance is working as it should, providing an auditable record. IP video surveillance is now a critical part of physical security in many industries, providing both real-time visibility and a record of events that can be reviewed, if needed.

Viakoo’s unique solution has gained traction by providing a comprehensive system for ensuring that access and video surveillance devices are operating within expected parameters

Regulatory agencies in fields as diverse as transportation, payment card processing and electrical distribution require industry participants to protect sensitive areas by controlling physical access, and video surveillance is an important tool to demonstrate compliance. Viakoo’s unique solution has gained traction by providing a comprehensive system for ensuring that access and video surveillance devices are operating within expected parameters, alerting security officers/managers when problems arise.

Visitor Management Systems

Now, with the IoT Tracker, the company is doing the same for other IP-connected devices, including Wi-Fi locks, security entrances, uninterrupted power supplies, visitor management systems and more. Security managers know that any single camera on the network with outdated firmware represents a potential entry point for hackers and other criminals. Viakoo’s new Camera Firmware Update Manager solves a particularly difficult challenge for system managers – that of keeping track of the firmware status of every camera in the system, regardless of the manufacturer.

The Update Manager tracks status and automatically updates the firmware on camera devices from one or more vendors and performs these updates with a chain-of-trust method that ensures the integrity of the firmware. Viakoo is available for either cloud-based and/or on-premises deployment.
