Synectics has opened its new German headquarters in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. The security, surveillance, and operational management solutions business has launched a new hub to support existing and future customers across Europe.

Led by public transportation technology specialist, Dr. Kerstin Wendt, an expert team of software developers, sales and customer success personnel will provide hardware and software support, training, and dedicated systems development services to key customers in Germany, including S-Bahn Berlin (a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn and Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG)).

New Berlin base

New base will serve as a strategically placed location from which to expand Synectics’ offering throughout Europe

The new base will also serve as a strategically placed location from which to expand Synectics’ offering throughout Europe. Commenting on the launch of the new office, Dr. Wendt said “Opening this new office is an important step for Synectics. It ensures we are close at hand to support the major projects undertaken with existing customers, including our widely publicized development and roll-out of ‘next generation’ command, control, and communications solutions for S-Bahn Berlin.

Dr. Wendt adds, “It also places Synectics in the heart of mainland Europe. From here, we are ideally positioned to build on the highly advanced technical work we are doing to revolutionize security and operational management for the transport sector. It is certainly my goal for Synectics’ Synergy software platform to be instrumental in enhancing transport provision in other major European cities. The new office location, together with our immensely talented team, will enable us to achieve this ambition.

Future ‘smart city’ opportunities

Synectics operates globally to serve a wide range of sectors, including public space, critical infrastructure, gaming, and oil and gas environments. Asked whether the new Berlin base will support expansion beyond an immediate transport focus, Dr. Wendt commented, “It will be a natural progression to draw on Synectics’ experience in other sectors to open up new opportunities here in Germany and across Europe.

Dr. Wendt adds, “There are certainly logical ‘smart city’ opportunities that link well with our current focus on advanced transport solutions, from other major urban transport operators to national infrastructure providers, cities, and municipalities. From this location, we will be able to support a much wider network of customers across the continent.
