The STEM Olympics, a series of digital inter-school challenges, training sessions, and play-off rounds as part of Leonardo’s STEMLab project concluded with the victory of class 3A from istituto omnicomprensivo Leonardo da Vinci in Acquapendente (the VT), with their teacher Valentina Danesi.

In second place came 3C IET of I.I.S.S. Del Prete – Falcone in Sava (TA), under teacher Marco Ingrosso. Third on the podium was class 2C OSA of Istituto superiore – ITCG-L.SC. – Leonardo da Vinci in Poggiomarino (NA), with their teacher Anna La Montagna.

New-generation multimedia teaching aids

Following the playoff rounds and regional finals, the three classes came top in a national challenge focused on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, winning a set of new-generation multimedia teaching aids in the process.

Accuracy and speed were the crucial factors in responding to this exciting “trivia quiz”, demonstrating the hard work of all the students involved and their enthusiasm for the STEM disciplines assisted of course by their teachers and by the experts and tools provided by Leonardo.

STEMLab, Leonardo’s initiative for scientific citizenship

STEM Olympics are a part of Leonardo’s vast and wide-ranging STEMLab project promoting scientific citizenship

The STEM Olympics are a part of Leonardo’s vast and wide-ranging STEMLab project promoting scientific citizenship and the transmission of knowledge from the world of work to schools.

This is one of how Leonardo is contributing to the education of young people by encouraging them to study the STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), key factors for competitiveness, sustainable growth, and innovation.

Promotion of scientific culture and innovation

STEMLab is just one of how Leonardo is supporting the promotion of scientific culture and innovation, in line with the goals of UN Agenda 2030.

Its specific focus is on SDG 4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all) and SDG 9 (Promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation).
