Gallagher Security has unveiled Command Center v9.40, adding significant new features to the Controller 7000 product line.

This latest update underscores the company's dedication to fostering innovation in site management by enhancing scalability, performance, and system management, making it ideal for complex, high-density access control setups.

Enhanced Controller Capabilities

With the release of Command Center v9.40, the Gallagher Controller 7000 series, which includes Standard, Enhanced, and High-Security variants, can now support optional licensing for up to 24 doors per controller. This expansion more than doubles the previous capacity of 10 doors per controller.

According to Gallagher Security Chief Executive, Mark Junge, this development allows larger installations to be managed more efficiently, reducing infrastructure costs and simplifying system architecture.

He states, "This enhancement means larger installations can be managed with significant reductions in infrastructure costs and simplified system architecture."

Maintaining Performance and Responsiveness

Junge further comments on the performance capabilities of the Controller 7000 range

Junge further comments on the performance capabilities of the Controller 7000 range, even when operating at maximum capacity.

"Importantly, even at full 24-door capacity, the Controller 7000 range maintains high performance and access responsiveness, even in the most demanding environments," says Mark Junge.

This release aims to respond directly to the need for increased flexibility and scalability from Channel Partners and End Users.

Increased Reader and Communication Support

The Command Center v9.40 update doubles the number of supported HBUS readers from 20 to 40 and increases OSDP readers from 16 to 32.

It also allows for expanded inter-controller communications, raising the number from 60 to 100. These enhancements enable larger and more intricate controller networks, maintaining performance and manageability.

New Proactive Maintenance Feature

Lock Cycle Counting feature is introduced in Command Center v9.40 to facilitate proactive maintenance planning

A novel Lock Cycle Counting feature is introduced in Command Center v9.40 to facilitate proactive maintenance planning.

Jim Rayner, Gallagher Security Senior Product Manager, notes the importance of addressing potential lock failures proactively.

"We know that when locks fail, they do it at the most inconvenient time - at the end of the day or after hours," says Jim Rayner, adding "Proactively managing the life of a lock prevents these occurrences from happening, and ensures upgrades are proactive."

Integration with Cloud-based Identity Management

Another key feature in v9.40 is the integration of Entra ID single sign-on, which allows for secure authentication using OpenID Connect, in alignment with cloud-first identity strategies.

Mark Junge explains, "This integration allows customers to align with their organization’s cloud-first identity strategy, reduce reliance on legacy AD infrastructure, and benefit from centralized access control, multi-factor authentication, and conditional access policies - all managed through Microsoft Entra. It simplifies user management, enhances security, and supports smoother migration to modern identity platforms."

Command Center v9.40 will be available from November 18, 2025.
