XL Axiata needed a security solution to easily manage and control all cameras with one system

XL is one of the leading telecommunications company in Indonesia. The company began commercial operations in 1996 and is one of the leading and fastest-growing cellular service providers with an extensive network throughout Indonesia.

The company mainly serves retail customers (Consumer Solutions) and solutions for corporate customers (Business Solutions). By the end of 2010, XL Axiata served approximately 40 million subscribers across the country - an almost 28% growth compared to the year before - and this number continues to grow. To better serve the international market, XL Axiata has also developed strong partnerships with more than 357 international providers in over 140 countries.

Initial Business Objective:

PT XL Axiata Tbk required 24/7 surveillance for their network buildings - both indoors and outdoors. Each network building would be installed with more than a hundred video cameras. Considering the large number of cameras in each building, XL Axiata needed a security solution that would allow them to easily manage and control all cameras with one system.

As advised by distributor, PT. Jakarta Sinergi Multidiv (Jakarta Alarm), XL Axiata decided to go with Bosch Secuirty Systems. Bosch was able to meet the requirements of the end-user through the user-friendly, and high quality products.

Solution:

A total of 710 CCTV cameras were installed for XL Axiata’s network buildings in their Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya branches.

All cameras are managed and controlled with the Bosch Video Management System - LTC 2605/91. This system provides advanced switching capabilities that incorporate either the Divar Digital Video Recorder devices, or the System 4 Series Multiplexer devices. The unique video management capability reduces the number of monitors required in the system as a single control station can easily control up to 16 connected devices.

The Bosch 700 Series Hybrid and Network Recorders offer top-of-the-line performance and adaptability. With real-time viewing, recording, and playback in genuine 4CIF resolution, the recorders capture all details. The advanced H.264 compression technology used in the 700 Series reduces bandwidth and storage needs by up to 30%. Furthermore, the embedded design of the 700 Series Recorder offers a higher level of security against network attacks.
