High-Performance Camera Installation
Faced with the task of updating its video surveillance system across the rail network, the SBB video team selected Hanwha Vision cameras. The decision was influenced by the cameras’ high performance, smart analytics, and competitive pricing. Since 2021, cameras from Hanwha Vision's X and P series, including vandal-resistant network dome cameras, PTZ cameras, and network boxes, have been operational across the network.

The installed cameras offer a wide array of features, including audio detection, automatic lens distortion correction, and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). In the event of an incident, dome cameras can transition to PTZ mode. Additional features include tamper and fog detection, alongside day and night functionality.

SBB is increasingly utilizing dome and multi-directional cameras from the X and P series due to their remote lens alignment capability. This feature optimizes costs both during installation and in ongoing operations by allowing lens adjustments to be made remotely, minimizing the need for in-person maintenance.

Equipped with advanced video analytics like loitering detection, virtual line-crossing, and area detection, these cameras provide precise motion detection capabilities. They significantly aid operators in promptly identifying unauthorized access to restricted areas, thanks to integrated AI that distinguishes between humans and various vehicles, enhancing analysis accuracy and reducing false alarms.

Hanwha Vision cameras from its X and P series, including a vandal-resistant network dome camera, plus PTZ cameras and network boxes, have been installed and used continuously since 2021.
