Vismo, a newly appointed commercial partner of the Global Interagency Security Forum (GISF), is set to showcase its personal security applications at the GISF Global Security Risk and Policy Conference 2026 in London from May 26 to 28.
This year's conference theme, "Collective Strength Against Emerging Threats," highlights the importance of collaboration in addressing modern security challenges faced by aid workers worldwide.
Complex Operating Environments
Established in 2006, GISF serves as a crucial network connecting NGOs, UN agencies, and donors to enhance security risk management (SRM) for aid workers. This encompasses duty of care, secure access, and other safety improvements in challenging environments. As a commercial partner, Vismo will collaborate with GISF members to bolster the safety of aid organization employees, volunteers, and contract workers. This is achieved through their smartphone applications and satellite devices, particularly in high-risk areas and during travel.
Tom Cowling, CEO of Vismo, notes, “NGOs operate in an environment of escalating and increasingly complex security risks. They include targeted violence, kidnapping, arbitrary detention, disinformation, and threats from emerging technologies such as drones—alongside tighter budgets and reduced enabling support.”
