The Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has announced several new appointments to bolster its team and enhance support for industry members. Among the notable changes, Kay Scattergood transitions to the position of PA to General Manager & Secretary, Michael Skelding. After years of dedicated service, Scattergood opts to reduce her working hours while remaining integral to the DHF team.

With over 38 years of service, Scattergood has evolved from Senior Secretary to Manager of the Administration Team. She continues to leverage her extensive experience to benefit the organization. In a new development, Annie McKay will join DHF as Office Manager in April 2026. This newly established role has McKay overseeing office operations and the management of administrative functions such as IT, HR, and certification processes. McKay brings seven years of expertise in office management, contributing to seamless operations.

Enhancing Training and Compliance

The federation also welcomes Huw Barnett as Senior Training and Compliance Officer.

With over 26 years of experience in the door, gate, and barrier industry, Barnett’s career includes various operational and senior management roles. He brings valuable technical skills and will provide training across the sector. Barnett’s insights into safety standards and new technologies, gained through participation in industry group meetings, enhance DHF’s capabilities.

Board Appointments Reflect Industry Commitment

Gorner emphasizes his passion for the industry and DHF’s role in promoting high standards

In addition to these key roles, DHF names two new directors to its board. Wolfgang Gorner, Managing Director of Hörmann (UK) Ltd, joins with decades of expertise in building products, perimeter security, windows, and doors.

Gorner emphasizes his passion for the industry and DHF’s role in promoting high standards. Similarly, Ricky Walker, Managing Director of Expert Access Solutions, brings substantial board and commercial governance experience. An active contributor to DHF initiatives, Walker is committed to advancing federation growth and professional standards.

Dedication to Industry Support

We are delighted to welcome new team members, Annie and Huw, to DHF at an important time for the organization,” stated Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens, DHF’s Deputy CEO. “Their appointments, alongside Wolfgang and Ricky’s, reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting members and enhancing industry services.”
