A new version of ACT365, the cloud-based access control and video management solution from Vanderbilt, has recently been released. The new release, version 1.5.1, is enhanced with a new video player. Improvements in this new video player include:

  • Improved performance with loading times for live and recorded video approximately 1-2 seconds
  • Seamless transition between live and recorded video in one window
  • New video stream controls and layout

Video stream controls

The video stream controls and layout delivers far more flexibility to the system user with features such as:

  • Live/Recorded video indicator
  • Full screen toggle
  • Stop video stream
  • Rewind
  • Play Backwards
  • Pause
  • Play Forwards
  • Fast Forward
  • Go to Live
  • Choose Camera
  • Email Snapshot

Note for users : In order to support the enhanced video player and provide improved video performance, it was necessary to overhaul the underlying architecture of the VCU. This means that when VCU firmware version 8.4 is installed any video currently stored on the VCU will be lost.
