Paxton has launched Solo, its new access control system, and in support of this, the company is offering nationwide training sessions designed for security installers.
These sessions aim to familiarize professionals with the innovative platform, which uses a smartphone-based, cloud-hosted approach, eliminating the need for on-site data networks. As a launch incentive, Paxton is distributing 10,000 one-door starter kits to installation companies, contingent upon their attendance at a Solo training session.
Access Control Systems
Solo revolutionizes access control by turning smartphones into both the system and the key. Installers set up and manage the system directly via the Paxton Solo app, enabling end users to access premises using their phones. With no infrastructure requirements, the system offers a straightforward setup process.

Paxton's free Solo training course spans two hours and is conducted by their expert team across various U.S. locations. The course provides hands-on experience with system setup, configuration, user management, and commissioning. Trainees will also explore how Solo distinguishes itself from traditional systems. Steve Woodbridge, Global Training Manager at Paxton, explained, "Solo training is a hands-on session designed to give installers practical experience with the system. It focuses on how Solo works, where it fits, and how it is installed with real-world use cases, helping installers understand the system before they quote jobs and install it on customer sites."
Simplest System Setup
According to Woodbridge, the training allows installers to discuss potential projects and receive tips that improve installation efficiency.
He added, “The training is also about giving installers an opportunity to discuss potential Solo projects, as well as tips and tricks to speed up even the simplest system setup, so they can deliver Solo effectively from day one, and understand how the system can be positioned alongside existing Paxton solutions.”
Ongoing Service Relationships
Solo's cloud-hosted system, managed through the Paxton Solo app, offers installers flexible options to structure their services, fostering opportunities for recurring revenue. Paxton offers both in-person and online training with companies having the option to request on-site sessions for groups of four or more installers.
Paxton’s comprehensive training program includes Solo and other systems like Net2 and Paxton10, each updated for 2026. Woodbridge noted, “This year, we’ve refined our training approach to bring greater clarity to the options available across our product range. The course content on all systems is more flexible and relevant to each trainee than ever before, ensuring they get more practical time with the systems and build confidence to deliver solutions effectively on site.”
Following the launch of Solo, Paxton’s brand-new access control system, the security manufacturer is introducing dedicated Solo training sessions nationwide to support security installers who want to adopt the new platform.
As part of the launch campaign, Paxton is giving away 10,000 one-door starter kits to installation companies. Any company that has not yet received a kit will be sent one after they attend a Solo training session.
Access control systems
Solo is Paxton’s new phone-based, cloud-hosted access control technology, where the phone is the system and the key. Installers use a smartphone to create and manage the system directly through the Paxton Solo app. End users then use the same app on their own phones to access their premises. There is no on-site data network required, making installation simple and infrastructure-free.
The free Solo training course takes just two hours and is delivered by Paxton’s expert training team at range of locations across the U.S. The course includes demonstrations and hands-on exercises covering system setup, configuration, user management, and commissioning. Installers will also learn how Solo differs from traditional access control systems.

Ongoing service relationships
Solo is unlike any other access control system. Being cloud-hosted and managed through the Paxton Solo app, as well as game-changingly affordable, Solo supports flexible ways for installers to structure their offerings to customers. It enables them to build ongoing service relationships, creating limitless opportunities for recurring revenue, depending on how they choose to deliver and support a Solo system.
In addition to scheduled in person sessions, companies with four or more installers can request on-premises training, and online Solo training options are also available for those who do not have an upcoming session in their area.
Training across Paxton Systems
Paxton’s training program is designed to support installers across its full product range, with Solo forming the latest addition to the security manufacturers’ hands-on workshop sessions.
Alongside Solo training, installers can also access:
- Net2 Installation Training
- Paxton10 Installation Training
Each course has been recently updated for 2026. Steve Woodbridge concludes: “This year, we’ve refined our training approach to bring greater clarity to the options available across our product range.
