Detection Technology has announced the commercial launch of AIDA, an all-in-one CT detector system, following successful customer trials. The system is now fully available for deployment in rotating and static CT configurations and is designed to be compatible with future photon-counting CT (PCCT) systems.
The AIDA platform is crafted as a scalable hardware and software solution that caters to various CT designs and performance needs, integrating detector modules, data combiner boards, data control boards, optimized slip ring interfaces, and the company's proprietary API, which is compatible with the GigE Vision protocol.
Enhanced Temporal Resolution
The AIDA system is capable of handling data transfer speeds reaching tens of gigabits per second during a single CT rotation, with scalability reaching hundreds of gigabits per second. Such capabilities support increased imaging coverage, reduced viewing times, improved temporal resolution, and enhanced material differentiation.

This robust architecture provides a solid foundation for both traditional CT and upcoming PCCT technologies. “AIDA is a highly adaptable and future-ready CT detector platform,” stated Arve Lukander, President of the EMEIA Business Unit at Detection Technology. “With its modular and scalable architecture, customers can deploy a single, unified solution across multiple CT modalities while preparing for the increasing performance demands of photon-counting technology.”

This design ensures scalability to meet the evolving imaging needs in medical, security, and industrial sectors. Detection Technology plans to showcase AIDA at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna, Austria, from March 4 to 8, 2026.
