Commvault has announced the launch of Data Rooms, a secure space designed for enterprises to safely link their reliable backup data with AI platforms or internal AI projects, such as data lakes.
This new environment combines governed, self-service access with integrated classification and compliance measures, bridging the divide between data protection and activation. The goal is to make backup data ready for AI applications without introducing new risks or complexities.

The system automates data discovery and classification, facilitating the creation of curated datasets ready for AI use.
Maintaining Data Trust and Compliance
As organizations transition from merely protecting their data to actively utilizing it, Commvault ensures the integrity and compliance of data throughout this activation phase.
"Most enterprises don’t need yet another AI platform to manage," stated a representative from Commvault, highlighting that Data Rooms are specifically designed to meet these needs.
Presently, Commvault's Data Rooms are available in early access, with plans for general release projected for early 2026. Pricing information will be available closer to the official launch date.
