ASSA ABLOY has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Gunnebo Entrance Control, a global firm specializing in entrance control solutions like speed gates, mass transit gates, and security revolving doors.
This strategic acquisition aims to enhance ASSA ABLOY’s offerings in mature markets by integrating complementary products within its existing portfolio.
Strengthening Entrance Solutions Portfolio

With its established range of entrance control products, Gunnebo Entrance Control is set to bolster ASSA ABLOY’s pedestrian access solutions. Founded in 1995, though tracing its origins back to 1764, Gunnebo Entrance Control employs approximately 670 individuals. The company is headquartered in Maresfield, UK, with manufacturing facilities in Europe, the US, and Asia. This acquisition will incorporate Gunnebo Entrance Control into the Pedestrian business segment within ASSA ABLOY’s Entrance Systems Division.
The firm reported sales of approximately MEUR 151 (around MSEK 1,670) in 2025, with a robust EBIT margin. Initially, the acquisition will have a minor dilutive impact on earnings per share. Completion of this acquisition is contingent upon regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with a projected closing in the fourth quarter of 2026.
