Care@Home allows service providers to offer a customisable and upgradable PERS solution to their home-care customers

Medical Guardian, a leading American provider of medical alert services, has selected Essence’s Care@Home™ personal emergency response system (PERS) solution for its new monitoring service. Essence is a leading provider of IoT, cloud-based connected-living solutions.

As an IoT pioneer, Essence has made a strong push into the home healthcare market over the last few years with Care@Home, the new standard for seamless, in-home eldercare solutions. Care@Home PERS is a comprehensive, active system that includes a panic button and a wearable pendant. It allows service providers to offer a customisable and upgradable PERS solution to their home-care customers.

Helping Customers

“As a national company, a big part of what we do is look for unique solutions that are technologically superior to those currently available in the market to provide the best services to our clients and maintain a strong competitive edge,” said Geoff Gross, CEO, Medical Guardian. “Partnering with Essence checks all our boxes. We serve the largest polyglot society in the world, the ultimate melting pot, and the multilingual features will drive us into new markets and provide peace of mind for seniors.”

Thanks to the combination of leading monitoring care services and Essence’s advanced Care@Home PERS offering, Medical Guardian achieved first place in the 2015 “Medical Alert System Review” rankings from the respected product comparison website “Top Ten Reviews.”

Care@Home PERS has recently been expanded and updated to include new features:

  • Multi-language support, so voice reminders and announcements can be customized into any language within one day. No one need ever miss medication again.
  • Voice announcements selection – the service provider can easily select what level of alerts the user will receive according to their specific needs.
  • Adherence to the latest Security Industry Association (SIA) protocols
  • Centralized remote management of installed PERS systems via a panel log file

In addition to the PERS technology, Essence’s Care@Home multi-service platform includes advanced intelligent monitoring capabilities that allow seniors the independence to age in place. These capabilities can be added on top of the PERS solution enabling healthcare service providers to grow their services to seniors and their family members with seamless, personal daily activity monitoring and alerting services.

“We have been at the forefront of promoting senior independence for several years now and have recently removed the language barrier and enhanced our solutions’ range so everyone can benefit from PERS with complete confidence,” said Yaniv Amir, President, Essence USA. “Introducing on top of PERS a simple, natural path toward seamless intelligent home care solutions provides significant business opportunities for our Telecare customers, widening the array of valuable care services.”
