Verkada has announced the elevation of Carlos Rocha to the position of Country Manager for its Latin American (LATAM) operations. This move comes as the company seeks to address the increasing demand for its AI-driven physical security solutions in the region.
Rocha, who is stationed in Mexico City, will oversee Verkada's go-to-market strategy, sales, and partner growth throughout the LATAM market. The security firm has experienced significant growth over the past year, supported by a network of over 400 partners in the region, leading to a 300% increase in LATAM bookings year-over-year.
Strengthening Position in Fast-Growing Markets
Eric Salava, Verkada’s Chief Revenue Officer, highlighted Rocha's critical role in establishing the company's presence in Latin America, noting his pivotal efforts since joining as the company's first employee in Mexico. Rocha has expanded the team to upwards of 30 employees, significantly impacting LATAM operations.
He remarked, "Carlos has been instrumental in building Verkada's business in Latin America from the ground up." Reflecting on the region's potential, Rocha stated, "Latin America is one of the most dynamic and fast-growing markets in the world." He emphasized the region's advanced adoption of AI and cloud technologies, making Verkada's platform a preferred choice among organizations.

Verkada's customer base in LATAM has surged by 52% over the past year, as the company leverages AI to address practical challenges faced by entities like C5, Softek, Finsa, and the American School Foundation.
With growing operations, Verkada's systems manage substantial volumes: its cameras process over 400 million images during peak hours, its access control facilitates 8 million daily door unlocks, and its visitor management system thwarted more than 5,000 potential security threats last year.
Recent Investments and Expansion
This recent activity in LATAM aligns with Verkada's broader expansion efforts, which include launching new offices in several US cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles, as well as an international hub in Dubai.
The company's strategic growth has been bolstered by investment from CapitalG, Alphabet's independent growth fund, which valued Verkada’s extensive global customer base at $5.8 billion.
