Intellian has announced that two of its antenna systems, the v60Ka 2 and v100NX Ka, have received type approval from Telenor Satellite for operation on the THOR 7 Ka-band GEO satellite network. This certification allows these systems to join Intellian's previously approved v85NX in providing services on the network, which marked a significant milestone as the first 85cm antenna to be approved.
High-Speed Uplink Capabilities
The Intellian v100NX Ka is designed to deliver high RF performance, equipped with a radome and reflector that are optimized for future 2.5GHz wideband Ka network services. As part of the NX Series, it supports multi-orbit operation and can easily switch between Ka and Ku bands, offering flexibility for users with existing v100NX Ku-band systems. An optional 10W BUC upgrade is available to enhance performance further.
Meanwhile, the v60Ka 2 is a compact 65cm antenna weighing 39kg and is built on the same platform as the NX Series. It comes in both 5W and high-power 10W BUC versions to cater to high-bandwidth needs, delivering strong RF performance and data rates for its size.
Advanced Below Deck Units
Both antenna systems feature Below Deck Units (BDUs) with a pre-installed THOR 7 modem and embedded mediators to enable easy dual-antenna configurations, minimizing interference from a vessel's structure. Installation is streamlined with a pre-slung design and single coaxial cable connection, and further simplified by a user-friendly commissioning wizard in the AptusNX management platform. This platform, accessible via a web interface, also allows for remote diagnostics and alerts for predictive maintenance.
Intellian's use of standardized modular components for these systems reduces repair times and spare part stock needs by up to 40%, contributing to significant cost savings and reducing the total cost of ownership.

The THOR 7 HTS Ka-band mobility VSAT service, in operation since 2015, offers comprehensive satellite coverage across key pan-European shipping routes in the Mediterranean Sea, North Sea, Red Sea, Norwegian Sea, Baltic Sea, Barents Sea, and Persian Gulf. It utilizes up to 25 focused spot beams to ensure seamless connectivity.

The Intellian v100NX Ka delivers market-leading RF performance and is future-proofed with a specially-tuned radome and reflector in anticipation of forthcoming 2.5GHz wideband Ka network services.
Like all NX Series antennas, the v100NX Ka supports multi-orbit operation and can be simply converted between Ka and Ku bands, allowing owners of existing v100NX Ku-band antennas to easily switch to the THOR 7 network if desired. An optional 10W BUC upgrade provides a straightforward means of further boosting the antenna’s performance.
The compact, affordable, 65cm v60Ka 2 weighs only 39kg and is based upon the same platform as Intellian’s NX Series antennas. The Below Deck Units

Shipped pre-slung and with dome-on connection via a single coaxial cable which combines Tx, Rx and DC power, the antennas can be installed swiftly, with the process further simplified by a step-by-step commissioning wizard integrated within the AptusNX management and control platform. Easily accessible via a web interface, AptusNX also enables remote diagnosis to be carried out and issues timely predictive maintenance alerts.
