IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH is enhancing its 3D camera lineup with the introduction of the Nion, an industrial Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera.
Boasting a 1.2-megapixel resolution along with integrated depth processing, the Nion delivers high-resolution and temporally stable depth information at 30 frames per second. This makes it especially useful in logistics, automation, and robotics, where accurate 3D data is required at actual process speeds.
Advanced Capabilities for Industrial Environments
The Nion effectively captures moving objects almost without blurring, offering a high resistance to stray light. This ensures consistent and reproducible measurements both indoors and outdoors.
With a measuring range of 0.3 to 7.5 meters, the camera is designed to meet typical industrial scenarios. Its robust IP67-rated housing enables operation in demanding environments, and the Power over Ethernet (PoE) feature simplifies installation and reduces cabling requirements.

The Nion utilizes the onsemi AR0130 depth sensor offering greater resolution, reduced noise, and more stability in ambient light compared to standard ToF cameras. This advancement allows the Nion to maintain high depth accuracy, even when objects are moving rapidly and lighting conditions change.
Affordable Introduction to 3D Image Processing
Nion's compact design and high measurement quality provide companies an accessible entry into 3D image processing. It allows for flexible integration into current systems, offering a cost-effective solution for obtaining reliable depth data.
