Barox Kommunikation AG has announced a new technology partnership with Network Optix, enhancing its integration portfolio with innovative Video Management System (VMS) and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) providers. This collaboration is set to revolutionize the management and support of Network Optix Nx Witness video networks.

The agreement facilitates a seamless integration through the newly developed barox Network Optix plug-in, enabling Nx Witness users to leverage enhanced diagnostic capabilities, Power over Ethernet (PoE) management, CPU temperature monitoring, and network health analytics, all accessible through an intuitive graphical user interface.

Enhancing the barox Network Portfolio

The inclusion of this integration with Network Optix enriches barox's extensive array of plug-ins

The inclusion of this integration with Network Optix enriches barox's extensive array of plug-ins. Barox specializes in Ethernet switches tailored specifically for the stringent requirements of IP video networks.

Equipped with advanced integration features, cyber security solutions, and network diagnostic tools, barox switches are widely adopted across various high-security sectors, including public spaces, critical national infrastructure, utilities, transportation hubs, data centers, government installations, military operations, and the oil and gas industries.

Preferred Integration Choice

The enhanced diagnostic data offered by barox Ethernet switches — presenting the operational status of cameras and switches graphically — allows for quick identification and remote diagnosis of network or device issues.

For instances, such as unresponsive network cameras, barox switches can autonomously initiate a reboot, effectively reducing downtime without the need for engineer intervention. In scenarios involving security breaches, devices can be remotely disabled to sustain system functionality, while PoE port management allows users to reset or disable ports as needed.

These advanced capabilities differentiate barox from other network equipment manufacturers, providing a crucial advantage in managing high-security video surveillance networks.

Key Component in Security Infrastructure

James Cox, VP of Business Development at Network Optix, noted that "Switches are an integral part to security infrastructure; they are the nervous system of any enterprise video system."

He further emphasized that barox's integration with the Nx Witness platform allows users comprehensive control over their systems, ensuring operations remain uninterrupted. The partnership is anticipated to result in more stable and manageable enterprise video solutions.

Sarah Moss, barox's Sales Manager for the UK and Eire, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "This integration brings together two industry leaders to deliver smarter, more powerful systems and network management tools for our customers, and showcases how our latest switch products and tech partnerships are reshaping the future of the industry."

barox Kommunikation AG is delighted to announce the launch of their new technology partnership with Network Optix, the latest addition to their extensive integration portfolio with market pioneering VMS and PSIM providers. This new integration is designed to transform the management and support of Network Optix Nx Witness video networks.

Utilizing the new barox Network Optix plug-in, Nx Witness users will be able to capitalize on a greater depth of integration capabilities. Key features include extensive diagnostics, PoE management, CPU temperature analysis, and network health monitoring, all presented within a user-friendly intuitive GUI.

Addition to the barox portfolio

This addition to the barox portfolio is the latest in an extensive range of integration plug-ins available from barox, the market pioneering manufacturer of Ethernet switches designed specifically to meet the ever-increasing demands of IP video networks.

Featuring advanced integration, cyber security and network diagnostic tools, barox switches have become the solution of choice for public space, CNI, utilities, transport hubs, data centers, government, military, oil & gas and other high security applications.

Integration solution of choice

One of the many reasons why barox Ethernet switches are fast becoming the integration solution of choice, is their enhanced diagnostic data, showing the status of cameras and switches on a graphical chart – this enables the fast pinpointing of network or device issues, where faults and outages can be diagnosed remotely.

For example, if a network camera fails to respond, barox switches can be used to autonomously send a re-boot command, saving invaluable device downtime and in many cases can bring a device back online to resolve the issue with no engineer involvement.

In the case of a security breach, devices can be disabled at user level to maintain system operation, whilst full remote control of PoE on ports allows users to re-set or switch them off if required. This advanced capability stands barox apart from other network equipment manufacturers and has proven to be an invaluable asset and quite literally, ‘game-changing’ in the management of high security video surveillance networks.

Integral part to security infrastructure

“Switches are an integral part to security infrastructure, they are the nervous system of any enterprise video system,” says James Cox, VP, Business Development at Network Optix, adding “What barox has achieved with their integration into our Nx Witness platform enables users to gain full control of their systems without having to interrupt their operations. We look forward to collaborating with barox further and creating more stable and manageable enterprise video solutions.”

“I am thrilled to be announcing this collaboration between barox and Network Optix,” says Sarah Moss, barox Sales Manager UK & Eire, adding “This integration brings together two industry leaders to deliver smarter, more powerful systems and network management tools for our customers, and showcases how our latest switch products and tech partnerships are reshaping the future of the industry.”
