In a significant development that is expected to shape the regional cloud landscape, Plusserver has positioned itself as a regional cloud provider following its collaboration with SHD, initiated last December. As reported by IT-BUSINESS, Plusserver, based in Cologne, is targeting an expansion of its partner network throughout 2023, having established the necessary foundations in the previous year.
SHD, which has managed a data center for the past decade, will integrate its services with Plusserver's offerings. Under the banner of "SHD Enterprise Cloud," SHD plans to market the cloud solutions alongside employing the Pluscloud technology as the backbone for its own products and managed services. This strategic move is set to occur mid-year as SHD transitions its workloads to the Plusserver cloud, underpinning its growth ambitions in the infrastructure sector.
Enhancing Service Delivery
The collaboration is expected to significantly bolster SHD's ability to deliver a flexible and scalable managed service platform. Plusserver operates the Pluscloud from multiple data centers located in Hamburg, Cologne, and Düsseldorf, and this geographic distribution is complemented by robust security credentials. SHD has prioritized these security certifications, which include ISO 9001, 27001, IDW PH 9.860.1, and the BSI's Cloud Computing Compliance Criteria Catalogue (C5).
Highlighting the strategic nature of this partnership, Ohnacker remarked, "The modernization of the SHD Enterprise Cloud is just the first step in a partnership of equals." He emphasized that, "Plusserver meets all data security and privacy requirements for customers, and our solutions thus form the basis for new portfolio elements from SHD."
