Flir, a part of Teledyne Technologies known for thermal imaging solutions, has announced a major expansion of its firefighting products at Interschutz 2026, located at hall 27 booth M42. Leading the launch is the Flir K85-N, marking a milestone as the first thermal imaging camera (TIC) to earn full certification under the NFPA 1930:2025 standard.
The K85-N is introduced as the successor to the widely-used K65 model, showcasing a durable design and enhanced sensor capabilities. With a resolution of 640×480 and a pioneering single-range architecture, the K85-N offers firefighters continuous, high-quality visibility, effectively removing delays and image quality issues associated with switching temperature ranges.
Improved Scene Awareness

In addition to the K85-N, Flir is releasing updated versions of its well-regarded K75 and K85 cameras for 2026. These models have benefited from an improved optical design and a lower f-number, greatly enhancing image clarity in low-contrast situations.
Streamlined Fleet Management
The 2026 K-Series cameras are designed to simplify fleet management with several key features:
- Standardized Ergonomics: A compact battery and improved grip consistent with the K85-N platform.
- Advanced Connectivity: Integration with the Flir Responder mobile app allows for wireless streaming, over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates, and easier post-incident analysis.
- Rapid Deployment: The new in-truck charger incorporates an 'insert, twist, lock' system for more efficient handling in critical situations.
Focus on Safety and Consistency
"Our goal for 2026 was standardization and serviceability," said Peter Dekkers, Business Development Director at Flir. "Whether a department is using the NFPA-certified K85-N or the updated K75, the interface, batteries, and charging infrastructure remain consistent. This reduces training friction and keeps the focus where it belongs: on the fireground."
Additionally, Flir hinted at an exclusive, undisclosed development that will be revealed only at the event. This "booth-only" unveiling is expected to highlight a new advancement in first-responder safety technology.
