Comprion and Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) have forged a partnership to deliver mutually validated solutions and a comprehensive development and testing environment for SGP.32-based IoT eSIM solutions.
This collaboration offers providers and integrators of SGP.32 IoT eSIM solutions the ability to pre-launch verify their products' compliance with SGP.32 standards, ensuring reliable interoperability with G+D eSIMs.
It also includes transparent error analysis for resolving interoperability challenges.
Security in a Complex IoT Ecosystem
The introduction of the GSMA's new SGP.32 IoT specification brings heightened importance to the remote management of eSIMs in IoT devices. However, it also increases the technical complexity of the ecosystem. A crucial new architectural component, the eSIM IoT Remote Manager (eIM), is being introduced to support this specification.
Dr. Marcus Dormanns, Director of Product Management & Business Development at Comprion, notes the challenges, "We expect to see a number of eIM implementations from companies that are not yet familiar with the technical environment of eSIM/RSP. Comprehensive Testing Under SGP.32 Standards

This collaboration sets the foundation for an effective development and testing environment.
The partnership centers on a test and development setup incorporating the Comprion Test Tools eUICC Profile Manager and Comprion Network Bridge, alongside a G+D Sm@rtSIM Polaris 1.5M SGP.32 eSIM reference test card with integrated IPAe. Interoperability testing is guided by a detailed test plan collaboratively defined by both companies. This framework facilitates the integration and evaluation of an eIM component.

The established test environment is aimed at empowering manufacturers of eUICCs, IoT module and device OEMs, SM-DP+ and eIM providers, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), as well as integrators and operators dealing with intricate IoT use cases, such as those prevalent in the automotive industry.
By facilitating early pre-validation testing, the collaboration helps reduce integration risks, prevent field failures, and improve the reliability of IoT solutions over time.
