Vanderbilt Industries, a global leader in access control innovation, recently announced the introduction of lite blue™, a new 2-door web-based access control system with expansion capabilities to 8 devices.

lite blue™ boasts the same easy-to-use software as the company’s bright blue® Intelligent Access Management System and is easily upgradeable to a full bright blue 32-door system.  The Vanderbilt lite blue™ controller includes two on-board reader interfaces, thereby allowing for easier installation and enhanced cost savings.  Built on the Authentic Mercury™ controller platform, lite blue™ supports standard Wiegand devices, Schlage AD Series electronic locks, and various card formats and technologies such as proximity, smart card, magnetic stripe and Bluetooth®.

Designed in the same manner as Vanderbilt’s flagship web-based controller, utilising embedded intelligence, lite blue™ does not require special software or a dedicated PC.  Any computer running a standard web browser can be used to access, monitor and manage the system.  lite blue™ takes simplicity a major step further when it comes to cost effective, easy-to-use access control.

“Based on feedback we received from our channels, we sought to create an economical, market-entry access control solution without compromising quality, feature sets, or scalability,” said Mitchell Kane, President, Vanderbilt Industries. “With our release of lite blue™, we’re proud to have delivered on our promise to offer a quality, affordable solution that performs at the highest level.”

Key lite blue™ system features and benefits include support for up to 2-8 doors and 5000 cardholders; remote access via web-browser; single action facility lockdown via credential, external push-button or software; email event notification; and easy upgrades to a full bright blue® 32-door panel system.

Other system features of note:

  • Automatic system back-ups
  • Standardized reports
  • Door status monitoring
  • Supports industry standard proximity, smart card and magnetic stripe readers (Wiegand technologies)
  • Supports Schlage AD-Series networked electronic locks

The Vanderbilt lite blue™ web-based access control system is scheduled to begin shipping in Q3 2014. The company will be demonstrating the new system, along with all Vanderbilt solutions, at the ASIS International trade show, 29 September through 01 October, Georgia World Congress Center, in Atlanta, at booth #3747.
