An analysis of more than 18 million ID scans from casinos across the country shows that ID fraud surged by 204% from 2024 to 2025. This rise significantly surpasses the 23% increase observed between 2023 and 2024, marking a notable escalation in fraudulent activities.

The data indicate specific behavioral and demographic trends linked to the rise in fraudulent activities. Over half (55%) of fake ID usage attempts occurred between 8 PM and 2 AM, coinciding with peak casino operating hours. Fraud attempts peaked over the weekend, with Saturday accounting for 25% of incidents, followed by Sunday at 19% and Friday at 18%.
The majority (60%) of fraudulent IDs were used by males, typically with a stated age between 40 and 42, suggesting that these are not primarily underage patrons but rather adults hiding or altering identity information.
